Nicole Marie Hoover and John Ryan Konrady will be our 2015 Marriage Mill Wedding Couple. The wedding will take place Friday, June 19 at 6:00 p.m. Vows will be exchanged at the bottom of the stairs of the Historic Old Lake Courthouse. Nicole grew up in Cedar Lake, Indiana and has a 7 year old son, Austin Christopher Roop, and is expecting a baby girl in October. John grew up in Hobart, Indiana and has twin sisters, Lindsay and Lauren. John and Nicole met on May 4, 2013 and instantly fell in love and have been inseparable ever since! John and Nicole want to be the Marriage Mill Couple because they feel that the love they share is so uncommon. They want to say "I do" during the ceremony that is performed every year to celebrate the history of so many weddings and from a time when marriage meant "Forever"!
Did you know in 1915 to 1940, Crown Point was well-known across the country as the place to tie the knot? Nearly 175,000 couples traveled to the city to say "I do"! Thus each year at 6:00 p.m. during the Food & Arts Festival, one Special Couple exchanges their vows to commemorate this historic time in Crown Point history. Immediately following the wedding is a renewal of vows ceremony where any married couple can renew their vows. You do not have to register for the vow renewal just show up at the bottom of the Courthouse stairs at 6:15 p.m. and join the fun!
