Lerner & Rowe Backpack Giveaway

Join us for our 2024 Lerner & Rowe Backpack Giveaway where we will be giving out 1,000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies just in time for back to school! Saturday, August 10th at the Dean & Barbara White Community Center (6600 Broadway) in Merrillville. In addition, attendees can enjoy FREE ice cream and browse local resource vendors. Let Lerner & Rowe take the hassle and stress out of back to school shopping and equip your kiddos with the necessities!

All backpacks, supplies, and ice cream are given on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. There is no registration required. There are no income or residency restrictions. All are welcome! Parents and children must be present. Backpacks are given to those 18 years of age or younger.

Are you a community member wanting to join in on the back-packing fun?! We need all hands on deck to help pack and prepare 1,000 backpacks for our event. Friday, August 9th we will spend the day moving through an assembly line and hand packing each backpack for the kiddos. Volunteers can help anytime between 9am-5pm at the Dean & Barbara White Center.
